Next, the dentist removes the crowns, followed by the abutment. Using dental tools, the dentist will then take out the screw and then stitch up the gums. After a few months of healing, the patient and dentist will evaluate the person’s health and needs before deciding the next steps. The patient may need a bone graft if more support is necessary.
